AUGUST 2007  - Eleven community projects, totaling over $5,000 will soon be underway thanks to the Webster County Community Fund and the people of Webster County. Programs supported range from emergency services and violence prevention, child safety, animal welfare and parks and recreation. “We congratulate all of the recipient organizations for their effort and their commitment to bettering our community through these projects”, said Betty Lashley, Community Fund Chairperson.

Recipient organizations include: Webster County Memorial Hospital, Diana Elementary School, Cowen Public Sewer District, Webster/Addison Library, Webster County Humane Society, Bergoo Reunion Committee, Addison Visitor Center, Webster County Commission, Webster Springs Police Department, Glade Preschool, and the Family Resource Network..

Double Your Dollars!  - As of December 18, 2007 there is $1,300 remaining to match contributions to the Webster County Community Fund ranging between $100 - $1000.  That’s right; any contribution made to the Webster County Community Fund that is at least $100 will be doubled. Contributions over $1000 are welcome but only this first $1000 will be matched.  You must act quickly to have your donation doubled. To add to the excitement, George and Jean Douglas have further agreed to match any contributions made to their scholarship fund, dollar-for-dollar. So, if a donor contributes $250 to the Thompson/Douglas Fund, the matching opportunity will add $250 and then the Douglass will match that, adding $500 to the Fund. Therefore, your $250 contribution equals $1000 new dollars in the scholarship fund for a Webster County Student.

January 2008
Start your year off right and get involved! The Webster County Community Fund is always looking for new team members. Our meetings are kept to a minimum (4 – 1 hour meeting per year) and you can decide how much more involved you wish to be, as you learn more. This is the community’s fund and we want you to be a part of it. Call Stephanie at 847-5558 to find out more.

Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation has offered us $5000 to grant out into the community if we can raise $10,000 for our endowment. We are looking forward to meeting this and granting out money as we have this year.

The WCCF is currently looking for more team members.  If interested please call 847-2145 to learn more about the WCCF and assist in improving your community.
