offers world class fishing in numerous, clear, cool mountain streams and
rivers. Truly outstanding trout fishing can be experienced in the Williams
River, Cranberry River and Elk River above Webster Springs. There are also
numerous special regulation fishing areas such as the 'fly fishing only'
section on the Dogway Fork of the Cranberry River; and special 'catch and
release' trout fishing areas on the Back Fork of Elk, Cranberry, Williams
and upper Elk Rivers. For

Artists.com is dedicated to promoting and preserving fine arts and crafts
made by local artists in Webster County, West Virginia. The
WebsterArtists.com website gives our talented artists the opportunity to
connect with a larger market. This web site is designed to stimulate
interest in many of Webster County's assets; particularly our artisans,
their forest heritage, and the culture that helped develop many of their
crafts. Holly River State
Park is the second
largest in West Virginia's State Park system and provides cabins, camping
facilities, biking and nature trails, picnic and playground areas, a
swimming pool, restaurant and facilities for individual and group
sports. Monongahela
National Forest covers thousands of acres offering
camping facilities, breathtaking scenery, miles of biking, hiking and
cross-country skiing trails, world class trout fishing and whitewater
adventures. Special areas of interest include Cranberry Wilderness and
Cranberry Glades Botanical Area. Camp Caesar 4H
Camp is
available for indoor group camping, family reunions and other events.
Facilities include a swimming pool, dining hall, auditorium, covered
campfire area, primitive cabins, campsites with hook-ups, lake fishing,
outdoor sports and more. This is also the site for the Webster County Fair
held each September. The Mountain
Parkway consists of a Byway
and a Backway, including four spurs, in Northern Webster County.
Designation as a scenic Byway and Backway by the West Virginia Department
of Transportation was granted on August 2, 1999. The Byway is a 10.4-mile
section of West Virginia State Route 20, extending from the foot of Hodam
Mountain, at the junction of Hodam Creek Road (Webster County Route 20/8)
to the Upshur/Webster County line, just north of Cleveland. The Backway
follows Webster County (WC) Route 3, a bit north of the Hacker Valley Post
Office to WC Route 1/1, which it follows to WC Route 1; it then follows WV
Route 1 to its juncture with WV State Route 20 about one mile south of
Cleveland. Mountain View Golf
Course features nine
holes of golf (par 70 for 18 holes) and three sets of tees to challenge
and entertain even the most experienced player. The golf course features
rolling fairways, major elevation changes, undulating greens and some of
the most breathtaking mountain-top views you will ever see. Big Ditch Lake Wildlife
Management Area offers 380 acres for outdoor enjoyment. There are
picnic and play areas, shelters, nature trails, hunting areas and the 55
acre Big Ditch Lake for fishing and boating. Bakers Island
Recreation Area has a horse riding rink, ball
field, outdoor basketball and tennis courts, picnic pavilion, grandstand
and swimming pool and is host to the annual Webster County Woodchopping
Festival, the Webster Wildwater River Festival and other
